Eigenschaften
Strontiumaluminat ist ein silberfarbener geruchloser Feststoff, der unlΓΆslich in Wasser ist.cite-ref-alfa-1-3[1] Er besitzt eine monokline Kristallstruktur mit der Raumgruppe P21 (Raumgruppen-Nr. 4)Vorlage:Raumgruppe/4 oder P21/m (Nr. 11)Vorlage:Raumgruppe/11.cite-ref-richard-c-ropp-3-2[3] Die Struktur bildet ein dreidimensionales Netzwerk von eckenverknΓΌpften AlO4-Tetraedern, in dessen HohlrΓ€umen sich die Strontiumionen befinden.
Verwendung
Strontiumaluminat wird als Zementbestandteil, als Lasermaterial und als Leuchtpigment fΓΌr langleuchtende Photolumineszenz und Thermolumineszenz verwendet. FΓΌr Anwendungen als Leuchtstoff wird SrAl2O4 mit den Seltenerdelementen Europium und Dysprosium codotiert.cite-ref-richard-c-ropp-3-3[3] Nach Aktivierung leuchtet es bis zu 10 Stunden grΓΌn (bei 520 nm).
